Le Corbusier redacta el artículo llamado “L’espace indicible”  en septiembre de 1945, recién terminada la II Guerra Mundial. El texto es publicado por primera vez en el número extraordinario de Abril de 1946 de la revista L’Architecture d’Aujourdhui.  En él se afirma que la clave de la emoción estética es una función espacial, y que ésta es el objeto de búsqueda de las artes, mediante la armonía, la acústica plástica, y las resonancias en la experiencia y en la memoria.

El espacio inefable representa un nuevo concepto de espacio y se convierte en el objetivo de un proceso creativo capaz de combinar todas las expresiones artísticas, la síntesis de las artes. 

La presente investigación pretende explorar este concepto de espacio, su origen, su desarrollo en los años posteriores y la manera en la que éste concepto tomó forma en las obras de Le Corbusier.

Ineffable Space

Le Corbusier writes the article “L’espace indicible” on September 1945, just after the end of the II World War. The text is published as a part of the special issue of the magazine L’Architecture d’Aujourdhui  on April 1946. On it, it is stated that the key of the aesthetic emotion is an spatial function, and this is the object of research of the arts, an acoustique-plastique which provokes resonances on the experience and memory. The ineffable space represents a new concept of space and becomes the target of a creative process able to combine all forms of art, the synthesis of the arts. This research aims to explore this concept of space, its origin, its development in later years and the way in which this concept took shape in the works of Le Corbusier.
